BookPage - Find Your Next Great Read!

Just in time for summer reading, Worcester County Library is now offering copies of BookPage at each library branch as well as a digital copy. BookPage is a great way to find out about new titles across all genres. The monthly publication includes author interviews and timely, seasonal books. Take a look to find your next read!

Service changes to Hoopla, effective April 1

The Worcester County Library will implement a daily spending cap for Hoopla services starting April 1, 2025, due to the increased cost of Hoopla Digital funded by the Eastern Shore Regional Library, Inc.
 

What this means for you

  • Once the library's daily budget for Hoopla checkouts is reached, no further checkouts will be allowed until the following day.

NEW! Romanian Library Corner

The Romanian Library Corner has been established with funding and support from Romanians of Washington, DC and in partnership with the Worcester County Library. The books will be housed at the Ocean City and Berlin Branches but accessible for checkout not only in Worcester County but across the entire Eastern Shore of Maryland. Featuring over 160 titles, the collection primarily includes books in Romanian, along with several bilingual editions designed for young children.

Now Open - Temporary Pocomoke Library

The temporary Pocomoke Library is now open at the old Fire Station on Fifth Street. The door and parking lot are on the far side of the building. Thank you for your patience as we have made our move to our temporary location, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Update 2/18 - Regular hours of operation have resumed; 9 am - 6 pm - Monday thru Thursday, 9 am - 5 pm - Fridays, and 9 am - 1 pm on Saturdays.

CatalogIt - New Resource

The Worcester County Library is proud to be a resource and repository for historical information related to Worcester County and the surrounding areas. We have been working to make our historical records more accessible to patrons both in-person and digitally. We have recently uploaded several of our collections to a web app called CatalogIt, which will allow you to view and search our collections from the library or from home. From photographs and newspaper clippings, to programs and yearbooks, the collections cover a range of topics and formats.

Memory Kits Now Available

Worcester County Library works to support patrons through all stages of lives. All branches and our Pop-Up Library now have memory kits and (ho-dee-ay) card games to spark memories and foster conversation and connection between people with memory loss and those who care for them.

Delaware Botanic Gardens Admission Passes now available for checkout

Free Delaware Botanic Gardens Admission Passes now at Berlin. Ocean City, and Ocean Pines Library Branches

The Worcester County Library is proud to partner with the Delaware Botanic Gardens to offer free passes to the Gardens this summer. Passes are available to borrow from the Berlin, Ocean City, and Ocean Pines branches using a current library card.

Ruth Dryden Research Notes - New Digital Collection

Worcester County Library has committed to digitizing and making accessible Genealogy Collections and Special Collections related to Worcester County, Maryland. The newest collection to be digitized is the Ruth Dryden Research Notes collection. This is a collection of 9,910 research notes on wills/probates in Worcester County, Maryland based on over 1,000 families from the 1700s - mid 1800s. Also included are other genealogy related notes such as marriage dates, birth dates, etc.
