Important Update Regarding Hoopla Services

Eastern Shore Regional Library, Inc. has announced that effective June 1, 2026, it will no longer offer Hoopla, a digital media service that many patrons of the Worcester County Library have come to use and love.

While Hoopla has been a popular service for patrons of the Worcester County Library, “pay-per-use" models have become increasingly difficult for libraries to sustain. Because costs increase alongside popularity, this model has reached a point where it is no longer fiscally sustainable for the regional library system.

We understand this change may be disappointing. Please be assured that our commitment to providing excellent digital services and robust collections remains a top priority.

If you wish to save your Hoopla reading history or favorites list, please do so before May 31, 2026. You can access this information within the Hoopla app by selecting “My Hoopla” and then “History” or “Favorites." We recommend taking screenshots or manually recording your titles. Due to privacy laws, the Worcester County Library does not have access to your account history and cannot retrieve this data for you.

We encourage you to explore our extensive collection of ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines through OverDrive/Libby and to explore other digital resources available with your library card.  And please be on the lookout soon for a couple of new, sustainable digital resources to be launched in the next couple of months, as well.

We appreciate your continued support and understanding.
