Ruth Dryden Research Notes - New Digital Collection

Worcester County Library has committed to digitizing and making accessible Genealogy Collections and Special Collections related to Worcester County, Maryland. The newest collection to be digitized is the Ruth Dryden Research Notes collection. This is a collection of 9,910 research notes on wills/probates in Worcester County, Maryland based on over 1,000 families from the 1700s - mid 1800s. Also included are other genealogy related notes such as marriage dates, birth dates, etc.

“Worcester County Library is excited to make these collections available online, so that everyone in our community and abroad are able to enjoy and appreciate the history of Worcester County, Maryland,” says Local History Librarian Alec Staley.

Over 3,000 photographs and postcards of Worcester County, Maryland are currently available to be viewed online. Most of the photographs and postcards are of Pocomoke City, Snow Hill, Berlin, and Ocean City from 1900-1940. Also available online are Oral Histories conducted between 1978-1982. These histories are of Worcester County residents’ personal and professional lives from 1900-1930.
