Worcester County Library Foundation

The people of Worcester County are increasingly turning to a valuable community resource they share in common - their public library. The Worcester County Library Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization which exists to support and enhance library service in this County.

The Worcester County Library Foundation can help the library to maintain and accelerate the momentum that has been building in recent years. The Foundation assists the library in presenting a wide range of interesting and educational events – from book and poetry discussions, to spirited exchanges about foreign policy, to cooking classes, to demonstrations of local arts and crafts. With your support, the Foundation helps the library to acquire extra copies of new, popular, and important books and helps the library to present fun and stimulating programs and activities for all ages.

The Worcester County Library Foundation is asking for your help in carrying out its important mission. You and your family members are invited to join the Foundation and support its effort to provide enhanced library services as well as cultural and educational programs. The Kindness Bus Visits Worcester Library
April 30 - May 2

While traveling through the United States, The Kindness Bus will be stopping at each of our five branches of the Worcester County Library System with a program for all ages. As part of our "Choose Civility" campaign we embrace the teachings of the The Kindness Bus, "by living in kindness people will discover the happiness that they can bring to those around them, and ultimately to themselves as well." It is crucial to recognize the importance of being kind to others; adults and teenagers can set the example for young children to emulate. You can learn about The Kindness Bus here.

Smithsonian's 50th Anniversary First Moon Landing Celebration!
July 17, 2019

Join us as we head to Washington, DC for the Smithsonian's 50th Anniversary First Moon Landing Celebration! View artifacts from the Apollo 11 mission including Neil Armstrong's Spacesuit which will be on display for the first time in 13 years! Many events and activities will be taking place throughout the day. For Dinner, we will dine at the Famous Carmine's Italian Restaurant in DC (cost of meal is included)! The menu includes stuffed mushrooms, Carmine's signature salad, cheese manicotti, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmigiana, cheesecake, soda and tea. We will dine in the Tuscany Room reserved just for us. We will leave from Ocean Pines Library at 7:30 am and from behind the Snow Hill Post Office at 8 am. We should return between 8 and 8:30 pm. To leave from Snow Hill please call Lisa Outten Harrison at 410-632-3970 and to leave from Ocean Pines call the Ocean Pines Library at 410-208-4014. The price of the trip is $95.00. Limited seating - please reserve early!

The Worcester County Library Foundation keeps careful track of gift designations by branch library and by area of interest. If you want to designate a gift for your local branch, or for books, or for computer technology, you can be assured that your wishes will be followed.

Honor someone who loves libraries and reading by contributing $25 or more to the Worcester County Library Foundation Book Fund. Honor contributions can be made to any Worcester County Library branch to purchase library books. Your generous support is appreciated.
