Limited Capacity Reopening – Beginning March 15

Limited Opening all Library Branches

All five library branches will open at limited capacity on March 15, 2021. No appointments will be necessary, but masks are required. Computers will be available first come, first serve, for 45-minute sessions. We are asking our patrons to keep their visits as brief as possible. (Please know we can’t wait to see you, but are trying to accommodate as many visitors as possible!) Library staff will assist at the copy machines. Study space and children’s activities will not be available. Meeting rooms remain closed. Materials will still be quarantined for 48 hours. Virtual programs continue, please check our online calendar: https://worcesterlibrary.libcal.com/ for details.Contactless pick up of library materials (library-to-go) will also continue Monday-Saturdays at all branch locations; as well as our remote printing service (https://worcesterlibrary.org/events/printing-go).

The library cannot guarantee the cleanliness of materials or equipment as public libraries are high touch facilities. The risk of entering a public facility is your own. We will clean high touch surfaces every hour as recommended by the CDC, however the availability of cleaning supplies is limited.

Depending on the number of cases in Worcester County, we may be forced to return to previous restrictions, and we apologize in advance should this become necessary.

To maintain a safe environment for patrons and staff:

  • All staff and patrons are required to wear face coverings (Please note: Face coverings can include a paper or disposable face mask, a cloth face mask, a scarf, a bandanna, a neck gaiter, or a religious face covering. A face shield alone is not sufficient. Visitors who wear a face shield are required to wear a face covering underneath it.)
  • 6-foot social distancing is required
  • The Library will have limited capacity with only a certain number of people allowed in the building at a time
  • Hand sanitizer is available for staff and patrons to use as they enter and leave the building
  • Materials may only be returned to the exterior bookdrops to enable proper quarantine
  • If you have a fever or are not feeling well, please do not come to the library

At this time, the following services are not yet available:

  • Newspapers
  • One-on-one computer help
  • Fax services
  • Meeting room reservations
